On the weekend Sally and I went out to see what was going on. We managed to make a stop at the rather disappointing Rosemont, and got "politely" harassed by two young gentlemen.
One claiming to be all for gay rights and gay marriages and promptly whipping out his iPhone, to what end I do not know, and stating he didn't like our jackets. The other stating, I quote "I fu**ing love Topshop, it's fu**ing MAD yeah?" who happened to be a Drum'n'Bass MC from the UK, and claimed to LOVE our jackets.
We decided to end this madness, finished out cocktails and crossed the road to attend the opening of Workshop. Workshop is a little combined shop and studio space showcasing some of Adelaide's emerging fashion designers; Lachy Lang, Julie White, Alice Rawlinson of Divine Madness and Gemma Stocks of Petronella. It is made possible by the Renew Adelaide project which aims to support urban renewal and encourage creative industries, something that should turn out to be a fantastic thing for Adelaide, if it can keep up and running for a longer period of time. I think this probably relies on the quality of the participants in the project and Adelaide City Council's opinion regarding the success of the project.
Go and have a look - Workshop is located at 151 Hindley Street, Adelaide.
